October is Liver Cancer Awareness Month

Roche supports World Liver Cancer Awareness Month.

October was Liver Cancer Awareness Month, providing an opportunity to shine a light on liver cancer and to raise awareness of how preventable it is when a holistic approach to the management of Chronic Liver Disease (CLD) is taken.

According to thearound 330 people are diagnosed with liver cancer each year in Ireland and it is twice as common in men than women.

Liver cancer awareness in Ireland is growing; thewas set up in 2022, and is the first organisation in Ireland to bring together liver patients, healthcare professionals and researchers in the field.

Recently, St Vincent's University Hospital hosted a Liver Cancer Study Day for nurses - a first of its kind initiative in Ireland. Roche provided an unsolicited educational grant to support this initiative. Education and awareness are important when it comes to improving liver health.

Thank you to the Roche Ireland liver team for supporting this important initiative.
